The World Affairs Program (WAP) has a large and loyal group of alumni that support the program in various ways. WAP has, not surprisingly, a larger concentration of alumni in Washington D.C., but there are other sizable pockets of WAP alumni scattered around the United States and the world.
If you are a WAP alumni who wants to reconnect with the Program, please signup for our email list and consider joining WAP’s Facebook group or LinkedIn group, which are more active sources of WAP news and information than this website. You can also read and contribute to WAP's wiki, which houses historical information about WAP and WAP's awards. You can also view prior editions of the WAP's newsletter -- called The Program -- on the WAP Wiki. Alumni may also want to read the FSU College of Social Science's 2011 report, which featured WAP in honor of its 25th year anniversary.
WAP alumni also make financial contributions to support the program by donating to WAP’s Endowment Fund at FSU and by donating their time and energy to various Program events and activities. See our donations page if you are interested in making a financial contribution to WAP. If you are interested in supporting WAP in another way or in hosting or participating in a WAP alumni event or activity, email the Chairman or Vice Chairman of the Board of Advisors.
Alumni activities are loosely coordinated by the WAP Board of Advisors and by WAP alumni interested in hosting an event or activity. Common alumni activities include social gatherings at FSU football games and FSU alumni reunion events and attending the annual WAP End of the Year Banquet held each April in Tallahassee. Alumni are also invited to serve on the Director's council, which is a group that advises the current student Director on issues facing the Program.
WAP alumni also traditionally attend team dinners with the traveling team during conference weekends in cities around the United States and internationally. See the conferences page for the dates of upcoming conferences and cities, and email the current student Director if you are interested in attending an upcoming team dinner.
