An interactive experience unlike any classroom experience!

The FSU World Affairs Program is pleased to announce its First Annual Winter Crisis Simulation that will be hosted on January 15th in the Devoe Moore Center. The World Affairs Program is one of the university’s premier academic teams and has competed around the nation and across the globe in international crisis debate. The World Affairs Program or WAP is hosting this event as an open event for all students to learn about and experience the most popular political and international affairs activity in the country. WAP will be attending a highly competitive conference hosted at UC-Berkeley in March and this event will act as an open tryout for those interested in attending.

For those just looking to try this unique style of academic competition for the first time, this day stimulating debate will serve as a great stepping stone opportunity. The tryout and general debate sessions are open to all FSU students regardless of academic focus or major, but students within the College of Social Sciences are strongly encouraged to attend. The First Annual Winter Crisis Simulation will pit two committee’s against each other as NATO and Pakistan collide in a political and economic simulated crisis in which delegates will need to work together and independently to stave off disaster and restore security and balance like our real political leaders attempt every day.

Discussion of topics in a classroom is one thing, but strong debate and discourse with others representing different views is a necessary skill anyone will need as they move forward into politics or the general workforce. As one of the country’s most successful and highly awarded debate teams, FSU WAP offers weekly trainings in public speaking, discussion tactics, debate, and professional skills anyone can use like proper formal attire for a business and professional setting and etiquette necessary to make good impressions and advance on any career path.
